One of my favorite songs is “The Story I’ll Tell” by Maverick City Music featuring Naomi Raine. When I listen to the lyrics, what comes to mind is the goodness of God. The song is talking about being confident in God’s faithfulness that He has shown time and time again. It’s about rejoicing in the fact that God never fails!
So the question I want to ask you is: what story are you telling? Think about some of your recent conversations. When people ask you how you are doing, what has been the main narrative? What is the first thing that comes out of your mouth? Is it about the problems that you’re facing or the God who can do all things? Is it about the giant standing before you or the One who holds the name that is above all names?
Because the spiritual realm is real, everything that we speak has power and that power can produce a positive or negative result.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.
Proverbs 18:21
What you speak has the power to be a defense against or an open door for fear, doubt, anxiety, etc. If you are always speaking negatively about yourself and comparing yourself to others, the spirit of depression has easy access into your mind. If you are always saying that you're broke and it is too hard for you to accomplish your dreams, the spirit of poverty will rest over your finances.
Change your language and speak life!
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.
Mark 11:22-23
There may be some promises that you're expecting God to bring to pass. There may be a door that you’re expecting God to open. You might be in a season where you are believing the Lord for financial increase. Whatever it is, sis, you have to speak life over it and believe that the Almighty God is going to come through for you! Think about how much joy and peace you could have just by changing your language.
After you finish reading this blog, I encourage you to write down 10 affirmations (declarations) concerning your life and tie scripture to each one. I can promise you that the Word of God has exactly what you need.
Stay focused on the goodness of God and praise Him in advance! If He did it before, HE CAN DO IT AGAIN!
